What is the use of a recipe? A recipe is a teaching tool, a guide, a point of departure. Follow it exactly the first time you make the dish. As you make it again and again, you will change it, massage it to fit your own taste and aesthetic. Eventually it will become your own personal recipe - Jacques Pepin

Book Blogger Hop
Check out this week's Book Blogger Hop at Crazy for Books. The question this week:
How many books do you have on your 'to be read shelf'?
I currently have six books on my dresser that are in the lineup. I use the public library for most of my reading these days, so I try not to get too deep a stack going. Of course, I have nearly that many books that I'm actually currently reading, as well: one science fiction novel, one non-fiction tome, and five travel guides.

I am hopping in for the blog hop. I'm a follower, too!
I have been using the library a lot more, too, but I still have a massive pile of books to read :)
If you have time, drop in and say hi at Manga Maniac Cafe
Hey Jon!
Sounds like you have your current TBR pile under control, which is more than I can say!
Your collection of nearly 4000 books is wow! Do you have pictures? That is amazing! Have you read them all?
Hope you have a great weekend!

Just popping in via the hop to say hi, I'm a new follower! You are much better at controlling your TBR pile than me, good for you! Have a great weekend:)

@Missie - 4000 was back in 1986, it's around 10,000 now. I'm only able to able to control my TBR pile by gritting my teeth, putting my hands in my pockets, and walking away empty-handed at the bookstores. It can be quite painful.
That's absolutely the first question everyone asks when they visit my library for the first time, "have you read them all?". Honestly, "No", there are quite a few of the older (1950s & 60s) books that I bought just because they needed to be added to the collection, but never got around to reading. I own them, though, if I ever need to read them. I have a few pictures I could post, but they don't really convey the reality. I may post them anyway, or take some new ones one of these days.
Hey Jon, thanks for stopping by the Blue Bookcase. Looks like you have a great blog going on here. Hope you have a great day.
Just stopping by through the Hop. The amount of books you own is mind-boggling - I'm a just a little jealous, too!
I'm here from the Hop, a first time visitor! Your blog looks great, I look forward to reading more.
I'm at The Book Stop, http://thebookstop.wordpress.com
Hi Jon - I am hopping by from the HOP. Love your library pictures. I have to say that my TBR pile is a bit overwelming at the moment. Luckily it is all electronic, so the space is not a problem at the moment.
